Matthew Penn

Matthew Penn is an Emmy nominated director who lives in both New York City and Massachusetts. He attended Wesleyan University and began working in theater and film shortly after graduation. Penn is best known for his work in television where he has directed and or produced over 200 hour-long dramas. He has directed for all the major networks as well as Netflix and HBO. His work includes iconic shows such as: Law and Order, The Sopranos, NYPD Blue, Orange is the New Black, Queen Of The South, and Damages. Penn met Glenn Close on Damages and went on to direct her in the Public Theater’s production of Jane Anderson’s Mother of the Maid. One day while driving through the village of Housatonic Massachusetts, Penn pulled his car over and realized that this town was a movie.
